Early morning departure; border crossing and journey along the beautiful Aegean Coast; visit to Alexandroupolis – a charming seaside town; sightseeing of the symbol of the town – the Alexandroupolis Lighthouse; free time for lunch; continue to the monastery complex in Porto Lagos; amidst a lovely lagoon declared a nature reserve the monastery churches are build on tiny islands connected to the mainland via wooden bridges; the locals believe that the presence of the Virgin Mary here is tangible; early afternoon arrival in the town of Kavala also known as the “Blue Town” amphitheatrically located ashore the emerald Aegean Sea; walking sightseeing tour of Panagia Old Quarter – visit of the Byzantine Fortress dominating over the town since the 5. century and Kamares Aquaduct built at the orders of Suleyman the Magnificent; check in at the hotel and free time; 2. Day: Breakfast; early morning departure to Keramoti – a picturesque fishing town; ferry departure to Thassos Island also known as the Emeral Island for the enchanting play of colours of the olive hursts and the countless bays embracing the island as apriceless necklace; free time in Limenas – the island capital town; opportunity for an optional sightseeing tour; ŸOptional tour: “Panoramic Island Tour” – bus sightseeing tour including visit to Panagia – the old capital of Thassos, one of the most attractive settlements on the island named after the Virgin Mary; the village has successfully preserved the 19. century atmosphere with its period houses and winding streets; visit to an olive oil factory and “Archangel Michael” monastery – the largest and most beautiful monastery, dating back to the 18. century; free time at a jewellery center; Afternoon departure by ferry to Keramoti and late evening arrival to Bulgaria.
